Why is it that people seem to care more when celebrities dies
Thousands of people die everyday and yet we as a group only seen to care about the famous ones, why is that?
Doesn’t the poor old lady across the street that died alone deserve our compassion and companionship?
Doesn’t the unknown Joe or Jane Doe that was murdered last night deserve our sympathy?
Every time that there is such a big deal about the death of a celebrity I think, doesn’t anyone else see what is wrong with that way of thinking?
When a celebrity dies to me it’s no different than when a stranger dies, after all, why should the life of a celebrity have more worth than the life of a homeless person that died and no one noticed.
Perhaps it is just the way I think, either way when you send that prayer or shed that tear for Michael Jackson, please don’t forget the thousands even the millions that perished without a consoling friend or family member by their side, after all they too are/were our family.
If you really want to express your condolence perhaps visit your local hospital or hospice and spend some time comforting someone that is about to embark on this unknown trip called death.
Perhaps one day we will evolve to see death as a simple transition, like a long trip to a far way place, a place far more interesting than here.
